Cannon fodder

This is an intriguing and complex game. It is very addicting. I have enjoyed this game very much. Update glitches have caused numerous crashes.
I started playing with a small group. We primarily build. It is the nature of the game for attacks, however, as you progress you become cannon fodder for larger clans. Attacks may occur one after another stealing all silver which is not protected. Silver being critical to any advancement.
The I have noticed many lower level players being inactive. This could well be a cause.
I have tried hard to work through this but do not stand a chance.
This may sound like sour grapes but I am not a gamer. Just looking for an enjoyable game with a few friends. I do not want to give up our clan identity just to play. Attacks are ok but when you have no chance to defend against them it is discouraging. At least limit recurring attacks by the same player or clan.
You will probably have 3 more inactive players.
